Firstly, I never leave reviews, but I stumbled upon this product, shortly after finding out my beautiful burmese cat Alfred has stage 3 kidney disease at age 15 and realised how valuable reviews are. We were advised by the vet to put Alfred on to a well known brand of liquid form potassium. He did not tolerate this at all well and had very bad tummy issues it also did not improve his potassium levels at all. After searching and reading, I came across Chemeyes and I thought to myself that I had nothing to lose. Alfred has one capsule mixed in with a Churu treat each day and within 1 month his potassium levels were almost within the normal range. I am so thankful I found this company. The capsules are easy to take apart and sprinkle on food, or in a treat and are far more cost effective than the liquid Kaminox I was told to buy. I hope you never stop making these! This product has changed the welfare of two of my cats who are hypokalaemic with hyperthyroidism. One hated having 3.5 mls of a liquid equivalent every 8 hours and the other had unrelenting diarrhoea from the same product. They are both tolerating the granules dissolved in water and Billy’s diarrhoea has resolved completely thus avoiding a daily bath, which with heart failure was extremely stressful for both him and me. I will be ordering this on a regular basis as their hypokalaemia is likely to be life-long
Too early to tell if product will help
My cat Simba, who will be 19 years of age on 28th August, has never had any hesitation in licking up the powder in its entirety which I scatter on his food or a cat yogurt. Before I came across this product he always refused a liquid alternative prescribed by his veterinary surgeon.
My cat would not take the supplement prescribed by the vet but I have no problem giving her Chemeyes K.
