Description

Vitamin B12 Capsules with Intrinsic Factor are the perfect solution for supplementing Vitamin B12 to your dogs and cats.

The recommended usage is 1 capsule per 25kg body weight per day. This can be reduced when the levels are back in the healthy range.

Each Capsule contains:

Vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin) – 1000mcg
Intrinsic Factor
Folate (as Folic Acid) – 800mcg
Gelatin Capsule

When should you get your pet’s B12 levels checked?

Vitamin B12 is unusual in that it can’t be directly absorbed through the digestive system. It first needs to bind to a protein, intrinsic factor (IF). When IF is absent, or not produced in sufficient amounts, the vitamin will pass straight through the gut causing the vitamin B12 levels to gradually decrease.

Intrinsic Factor is a naturally occurring glycoprotein which is found in most mammals, if the natural levels are too low then food needs to be supplemented to aid with the absorption of vitamin B12

When IF is not present, B12 has to be injected directly into the bloodstream because usual B12 food supplements do not contain intrinsic factor. Vitamin B12 Capsules are a great way to remove the stress of injections.

    It’s early days but so far so good! Product clean and in a hygienic container. Dosing instructions are a bit awkward though – 1 capsule per 25kg dog…… Not all dogs are that big so it would be very helpful if smaller dogs could be easily catered for with smaller capsules: trying to administer the right quantity for a 4kg dog isn’t easy.

    Thanks for your comments regarding the postage. Even though the refill packs are quite small, we have to send these as a small parcel. With the recorded service RM charge £4.50 for this service, as a business, we then have to add VAT on to this. We haven’t found a way to offer a secure next day service with a lower cost yet but we will certainly implement any more cost-effective options if we find something suitable.

    After many trials of other formulations the capsules are excellent in controlling Bunzl’s EPI alongside vitamin b with intrinsic factor. Last weeks blood tests showed high levels of vitamin B which is good along side everything else. As far as Chemeyes goes this is an excellent company in terms of service and dialogue with customers.     Been using this product for over 13 yrs with my GSD who was EPI , sadly he passed earlier this year at a grand age of 14 but i recently took on a rescue Doberman pup that had been starved and was emaciated.
    His intestines were badly affected and was suffering from very similar symptoms to EPI , blood tests revealed it wasn’t thankfully but his
    Folic acid and B12 was very low.
    Standard medication/supplements from the vets were making him worse.
    I knew exactly which product i needed to use again and within a short time my Doberman pup is gaining weight , eating puppy food and no more rear end explosions .

    Another genius product from Chemeyes. My vet said no oral VitB whether it had IF or not would make no difference to my dog. Six weeks on B12+IF and my dogs results were off the scale. Vet said he had never seen incredible results. It makes such a difference to my sweet girl

    Easy to administer. Improvement in energy levels and appetite. My dog had very low B12 and folate due to IBD issues and is currently taking B12 tablets under vet advice. I reviewed a lot of B12 products on the market and opted for these due to intrinsic factor. My dog will be having another blood test in 6 weeks time to assess B12 and folate levels. I am very happy with this product as things going in the right direction for my dog who has suffered with IBD issues from a puppy. We did not know he had IBD until vet investigated further after a particularly bad case of sickness and diarrhea. This product that is simple to use and very cost effective has made a big difference to overall health of my dog, I use alongside the post and prebiotics.
